Tips for your ear

A helix piercing in gold instantly finishes off the top edge of your ear, and you don't need a needle or a hole for it. Clip a gold-colored ring or the double ear cuff around your helix and your look is ready. From a clean smooth ring to a ring full of stones. Golden hour, all day long.

Gold helix piercings: which styles are there?

  • Spring rings: the smooth ring in gold is the basic of every ear stack. The twisted ring in gold has a twist in the wire, which makes it catch a little more light.
  • Delicate rings with a charm: the heart, the star, the butterfly and the moon. These are our nose rings, but they're made just as well for your helix.
  • Rings with stones: the flower of six cubic zirconia stones, the fine stones in a row, the wave with a stone in every curve, the leafy vine with a stone in every leaf and the pavé with a wide bar full of stones. These five only come in gold.
  • Double ear cuff: the gold ear cuff has two smooth rings joined together in one line. On your helix they sit one above the other: a double helix in one go.

Which size gold helix ring suits you?

The smooth ring comes in three sizes. At 8 mm it sits small and snug against the edge of your ear, 10 mm is the classic size and 13 mm stands out the most. The twisted ring comes in 13 mm, for a bold helix earring you can spot from a distance.

The delicate rings are open rings made of thin wire. The rings with stones have 1.1 mm wire; the moon is about 8 mm with 0.8 mm wire. That fine, they wrap neatly around the thin top edge of your ear.

How to put on a gold helix earring

  • Spring ring: hold the tab, pull the ring open a little, put it around your helix and let go. The spring clips it shut by itself.
  • Delicate ring: gently bend the open ring open a little, put it around the edge of your ear and softly push it closed again. Then turn the charm or the stones to the front.
  • Ear cuff: slide the cuff over the thinnest part of the edge of your ear, move it up and press gently.

Never squeeze hard. Too loose? Tighten it in tiny steps. More steps for each type on how it works.

Stacking in gold: three looks

  • Quiet luxury: an 8 mm smooth ring at the top and a 10 mm one below. Calm, sleek and still clearly gold.
  • Sparkle stack: the double ear cuff with the pavé or the wave next to it. Your ear catches every light.
  • Sweet stack: a star, a moon and a heart in a row along your helix. Small, playful and a little dreamy.

Gold or silver after all?

There's no rule that says what suits you. Start with what you already wear: if you mostly have gold earrings or rings, a gold helix blends right in. Mixing is fine too. More in gold or silver: how to choose, and the whole gold collection is under gold fake piercings.
