Clip-on earrings, no piercing needed: what really suits you

Twee vriendinnen glimlachen op de bank, met oorringen en ear cuffs

You're looking for clip-on earrings and all you see are pearls on a clip or dangles with a button. We don't sell those. What we do have are spring rings for your earlobe and ear cuffs, all with no piercing needed. These are our earrings without piercing, and here's how to pick one that suits you.

Clip-on earrings or spring ring: what's the difference?

A classic clip-on earring clamps onto your earlobe and has a fixed design attached, like a button, a pearl or a dangle. Our rings work differently. There's a small spring inside the ring. You pull it open by the little plate, place it around your earlobe and let go. The spring closes it by itself. Nothing goes through your skin.

Mostly after a pearl or a dangle? Then we're not the right shop. Want a hoop look with no piercing needed? Then we are. You'll find more options for ears without holes in our article about wearing earrings without piercing.

Where do you wear them? Three spots

  • Earlobe: a smooth or twisted ring with a spring. This gives you the hoop look that clip-on earrings usually give too.
  • Top of your ear: clamp one or more rings around your helix. Several side by side make an ear stack. You'll find more ideas in the fake helix piercings.
  • Ear rim: slide an ear cuff around the rim of your ear, no piercing needed.

Which size do you pick for your earlobe?

The smooth ring comes in 8, 10 and 13 mm diameter. For your earlobe, pick 10 or 13 mm. The 10 mm is the classic size. The 13 mm really stands out. The 8 mm is meant for a snug fake nose ring, so you'll usually skip it for your earlobe.

Can't decide between two sizes? The size guide shows which size and which style fit which spot.

Smooth or twisted, gold-colored or silver-colored

These are the rings you can choose from:

Pick the color that goes with the jewelry you already wear. If you mostly wear silver-colored necklaces and rings, go for silver-colored. Mixing is allowed too, of course. Prices are per piece, so if you take two, one for each ear, count on two.

How to put it on your earlobe

  1. Hold the little plate and pull the ring open a bit.
  2. Place it around your earlobe.
  3. Let go. The spring closes it by itself.
  4. Taking it off? Pull it open again and remove it.

Tip: take your ear rings out when you go to sleep or work out. Don't squeeze them too tight and don't bend them open or shut with your fingers.

Combining with an ear cuff

A ring on your earlobe and an ear cuff above it: that's how you build a stack with no piercing needed. The double gold-colored ear cuff goes nicely with the smooth gold-colored ring. There's also a double ear cuff in silver-colored. To learn how to slide it into place, read how to wear an ear cuff.
